Legal Basis

The Program of Citizenship by Investment is explained in the rules made according to Section 101 of the Constitution and Sections 8 and 20 (1) of the Citizenship Act. According to this act, people who have lived in Dominica without interruption for five years can apply to become citizens. They may get citizenship if they pay the required fees.

Dominica does not allow people with criminal records to get second citizenship. To apply, you need to be over 18, have a clean record, and make the required investment in Dominica. The Dominica Economic Citizenship Program, established in 1991, is officially approved by the government. Citizenship from this program is permanent and cannot be taken away, even with changes in government officials or policies.
