To qualify for Maltese citizenship, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Make a contribution of at least EUR 600,000.
  • Purchase a residential property valued at least EUR 700,000, which must be held for five years. Alternatively, applicants can opt for leasing a residential property with a rental value of at least EUR 16,000 per year.
  • Make a donation of at least EUR 10,000 to a sport, cultural, scientific, philanthropic, animal welfare, or artistic non-governmental organization in Malta.

Application Process

The application process is streamlined and typically takes up to 6 months from initiation to receiving the citizenship documents. The process involves the following stages:

  • 1 - Assessment & Onboarding

Costs of Malta Citizenship

Applicants must make a qualifying investment to fulfil the basic requirement of Malta’s Permanent Residence Programme’. This includes purchasing or renting a property in the country, donating to the Maltese Government and completing a Philanthropic donation.

Real Estate

Applicants can either purchase property in Malta and hold it for a minimum of 5 years or rent a property for 5 years with a minimum rent.
