About Commonwealth of Dominica

Established by the Government in 1993, the Commonwealth of Dominica's citizenship by investment programme is one of the oldest in the world.

Applicants must be at least 18, in good health and without a criminal record, and contribute to the Economic Diversification Fund or invest in government-approved real estate.

From USD 200,000 for a single applicant and USD 250,000 for a family of four, plus due diligence and processing fees.

Approved real estate

From USD 200,000 into approved asset classes — freehold property with title deed, hotel shares, fractional ownership or land.

Who you can include

  • A spouse of any age may be included on the main application.
  • Dependent children up to 18 (or up to 30 if in full-time education and unmarried) qualify.
  • Parents and grandparents of the main applicant or spouse aged 55 and above may be included.
  • Additional dependents may be added after citizenship is granted, subject to a supplementary fee.
  • Citizenship is permanent, not time-bound, and passes to future generations.

Professional fees and the retainer are settled at engagement, before the document file is prepared.

Due diligence and processing fees are paid when the completed application is submitted.

The EDF contribution or real estate investment — the largest instalment — is due only after government approval in principle.

Due diligence & processing fees

Due diligence fees cover the investigation and evaluation of your application before completion, and vary with family structure and investment option. Processing fees are levied by the government for reviewing the file. These generally range between USD 10,000 and USD 20,000 per applicant.

Yes. A spouse, children up to 18 (or up to 30 if enrolled in education) and parents above 55 qualify, either in the original application or added later for an additional fee.

Are there interviews or language tests?+

No. The Government of Dominica does not require interviews, language tests or previous work experience.

Do I need to visit Dominica?+

No visit is required before or after citizenship, though you are welcome to travel there.
